Crochet

Crochet is becoming a cult craft, more and more people are giving it a try and no wonder. From scratch it isn't difficult to pick up, the stitches are variations of a few kinds such as double, treble, and half treble with double trebles and triple trebles thrown in for good measure. It only gets hard if you are looking at American patterns as they have to be different!

For beginners mercerised cotton is your friend, it doesn't tend to split, the fibres are pressed down so no fluffiness and the finish is crisp and clean, but anything can be crocheted, pretty much. It grows quickly, it tends to be more economical with yarn as it is more open even in doubles and there is no end to its' creativity.

Most of all if you drop stitches you will know as you can only drop one at a time!
