Knitting a shawl can be considered the crowning glory of knitting. It gives you a chance to show off skill, determination and effort. Once they are finished they are masterpieces which are treasured and held on to with love.
Shawls used to be as unique as finger prints so everyone knew who the baby belonged to.
But ultimately they are a challenge which are worth the hard work and the endurance.
There are two patterns here one 2 ply and one 3ply.  The paisley pattern is traditional and the Hearts pattern is more modern but both are simply beautiful. It gives a choice of yarn weight you may prefer.

The size of needles used is the same either way.

This pattern requires 1 pair of 3.25mm (UK10) needles and a 3.25mm / UK 10 circular knitting needle if required
