Daler Rowney Soft Pastels are made with the highest quality pigments, chalk and china clay which results in a broad pastel range of 186 colour tints. Daler Rowney with many decades of experience in the art of soft pastel manufacturing have expertly formulated these artists soft pastels which can be used to produce a richness of graduated velvet tones and intense depth of colour which is made possible by the softness of each pastel.

Every colour in the range is available in 4 tints - numbered 1 to 4, with 4 being the most deep. Accurate blending techniques using the very finest pigments are used to produce each pastel colour. Each of the four different intensities colours are made with an identical combination of pigments which are then combined with differing quantities the purest chalk & china clay to produce the four different tints.

Daler Rowney Artists Soft Pastels have high degree of lightfastness and a good resistance to crumbling or dusting, making them perfect for all types of pastel painting and drawing including quick sketches for preparatory work.
