Bargello is a style of needlepoint (tapestry), geometric in origin in which the patterns are built up from rows of straight stitches, usually arranged in a wave or zigzag line, and repeated in varying shades or colours. 

Originally designed for upholstery for which tapestry is absolutely perfect, durable with a design that suits smaller areas without getting too fussy but will make an impact.

Bargello has become fashionable for this very reason, being adopted for more than tapestry and these kits have been created to help anyone wanting to try this beautiful artform in a compact kit containing the essentials to work the picture shown.

It is advised that some experience in tapestry work should be acquired before embarking on this project as tension and stitch consistency are essential to get a beautiful outcome.
