Clairefontaine's Pastelmat excels at what it does.

The pastel adheres so well to this paper that you don't need to use a fixative between each layer, and you are able to multiply layers without a saturation effect, making it the preferred choice of pastel artists.

The surface is coarser than velour, but softer than sandpaper, and will retain its original properties when wettened or rubbed. The range offers 14 different shades, in warm, cold and achromatic colours. Supplied in pads with a protective layer of glasseine between the pages
