Description
Hahnemuhle Britannia Watercolour Block | 300gsm 12 Sheets | Hot Pressed - Various Sizes
The stability and strength of this board offer excellent flatness when wet. The hard surface offers easy application of colour. Ideal for all wet painting techniques: watercolour – especially wet-in-wet painting, smooth wash and also dry painting – as well as lavis, gouache, tempera and acrylic.
Natural white, acid-free, lightfast and extremely age resistant.
Britannia is a reasonably priced, high-quality watercolour paper. It is available in many different versions (Cold-pressed, Hot-pressed, Rough) and is acid-free, natural white, ageing-resistant and 300 grams².
Britannia excels in price and quality attitude.
Britannia paper is made with a special watercolour paper machine. This allows consistent high quality to be delivered at a favourable price.
Britannia comes in three varieties: Hot-pressed, Cold-pressed, Rough. This block concerns the cold-pressed variant
- Hot-Pressed: Has the smoothest surface. This makes it ideal for very detailed work (such as botanical painting). It absorbs slightly less water than the other variants.
- Cold-pressed: Has a light structure, making it suitable for almost all applications. One can work in detail on this as well as reasonably wet, but the work will also keep its 'watercolour structure'.
- Rough: Has the most structure on the surface. This will emphasize the texture properties of watercolour, such as granulation. This paper also absorbs the most water.
