If you have a hank of truly gorgeous yarn, or if there is a muckle mess to re-ball then this gadget may be able to assist.

Clamp the wool winder to the table, thread the yarn up as instructed, (instructions included),  and turn the handle!

If not using a fancy skein holder then an extra pair of hands is very useful, to either hold the yarn or crank the handle!
