Prym Latch Hook - Fine

A handy tool, a latch hook has a little latch or "gate" that helps to lift one loop of yarn or thread over another.

The latch swings freely and lies along the shaft so the yarn can slip over towards the hand. the raised, flat end of the latch prevents the yarn from sliding back unless the latch comes forward and closes against the hook, lifting the loop over yarn caught in the hook.
