Shetland Island Wool, a fibre celebrated for its fineness, warmth and strength has been spun and spray dyed producing a tweed look that reflects the ruggedness of Shetland. The high levels of crimp and wave in the fleece make it ideal for a hand knitting yarn. The Croft has a soft handle that retains a lot of durability that ensures your garments will look as good in 5 years time (subject to washing them correctly!!!) Crofting is integral to the landscape, cultural heritage and social economy of the Shetland Islands. It bonds people and places in a unique way, preserving livelihoods and age old traditions. I haven't used it yet, but I love the quality and colour of the yarn, although it is not as "purple" as shown in pictures. I know it will make a lovely project. BTW, I have another four colourways of this same yarn.
